Eli Gonzalez is a NYC-based actor, singer, dancer, music director and teaching artist originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. Eli holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and shortly after received a Master of Music in Vocal Performance: Music Theatre along with an Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from New York University where he worked as an Adjunct Voice Instructor. Off-Broadway: "Iron Chef" in El Otro Oz (Atlantic Theater Company: NYT Critic’s Pick, Off Broadway Alliance Award Winner for “Best Family Show”), “Papa” in the world premiere of The Adventures of Honey and Leon: The Musical (New York City Children's Theater) based on Alan Cumming's children's book. Other favorite credits include originating the role of "Charles Bingley" in writing duo Dillon and Caps' production of Pride and Prejudice, working alongside Stephen Schwartz (WICKED, PIPPIN) and Charles Strouse (BYE BYE BIRDIE, ANNIE) under the direction of Tony-nominated actor, Gabriel Barre, on the newly-revised version of RAGS, and playing “Billy Crocker” in Anything Goes in Concert with the NYU Broadway Orchestra under the direction of Broadway director/conductor, Ted Sperling.
Eli currently works as the Theatre Operations Manager and Resident Music Director at the Play Group Theatre in White Plains, NY and continues to teach private voice and piano lessons in his voice studio.
Outside of performing, Eli enjoys exploring the city with his dog, Maggie (aka Magatha Bean). As his manager, Ms. Bean will *nervously* take any inquiries about her client, Eli (along with 75% of his profits). She accepts payment in the form of a nice head scratch or her favorite snack: carrots.
